Many successful legacy businesses are successful because they've same thing well, consistently for many years. They've developed a formula and an effective way of doing things, but that's where the opportunity lies. An effective business process does not necessarily equal an efficient business process and when it comes to a legacy business, it's probably been a long time since anyone thought about making a change.
